YUZEN VINTAGE CAR MUSEUM (Los Angeles)
The building is cut at its centre producing an entry space orienting the pedestrian to the museum function on the west and various ancillary commercial function on the east. the public enters the main exhibition space of the museum at its vertical centre.
On this section, they would like to show the inter-relationship of the parking ramp, the structural grid, and the exterior surface walls produce the architectural language, mimetic of the existing fabric of the commercial street
The section above showing the building level, with a limited site context. focus on the level on the building it self. with the thickness of the line draw the back part of the section showing the vertical access and the structure of the floor level and pillar that supported in the front and back part of the building. the site context on the right is to show the scale of the building on that area.
combination of the section and plan together easier to understand where do they cut the section. it could help to unterstand a complicated building shape on the section.
the thickness of the line on the section above showing the structure of the beam and pillar, with some texture on the uncut section, draw a clear relationship between inside and outside.
from this two section, I would like to emphisizes the texture in my section it can be easy to understand the cut and uncut section, and showing the section line by putting the section and plan together.
