KANSAI AIR TERMINAL (osaka-Japan) / Renzo Piano

KANSAI AIR TERMINAL (Osaka- Japan)

This section emphasizes a strong relationship between the airport, the airplane lane and the arrival/departure gate. Apart from the systems of the structure this section evidently highlighted the airport program on the ground level how passengers arrived from the gate through the voyers down to the check in booth and eventually board the airplane.

The section drawing is shows the building system and how it work, the silhouette of the peoples are representing the access of the building from the entrance to the plane, and the colour of the human silhouette (black  and white) representing inside and outside of the building. The technique of the line thickness easy to understand the back part and cut section.
This section is indicated for easier understanding of the building system and the roof structure

The Kansai air Terminal was build in the artificial island on top of the sea, but not floating. Therefore, the structure on the ground level wasn't much different, the main part of the section is to show the roof structure which is visible from the inside out.

In the cross section, the roof is an irregular arch (in reality, a series of arches of different radii). It has been given this shape to channel air from the passenger side to the runway side without the need for closed ducts. In the section showing the roof structure with undulating, asymmetrical lines, and yet the exposed beams are repeated with regular pattern of the filigree

from this section, I would like to emphasizes the thickness of the line and the structure of my main part of the building on my section. showing the system of the building.
